How to Support Authenticity in Female Leaders
60-mins Webinar | 16th October 2024 | 10:00am (GST)
Information
For the past year I have been studying authentic leadership and specifically authenticity in female leaders. In this webinar I will be sharing my key findings and what organisations can learn about creating an environment that supports authenticity for their leaders. Women, in particular face greater challenges being authentic then their male counterparts thanks to the gendered norms of leadership and "the double bind" where women are penalised for exhibiting both traditionally feminine and masculine behaviours at work.
Authentic leadership has been associated with many positive outcomes including well-being, employee engagement, job satisfaction and performance. While most organisations want to encourage people to bring their full selves to work, are corporations set up for that or do they really just want people who 'fit the mould'?
This webinar will explore how female leaders feel about authenticity in the workplace, what stops them from being fully authentic and what the consequences of inauthenticity are. We will also discuss what authenticity means to female leaders, the positive impacts and how to nurture authenticity for all.
